The Midwives Model of Care is to support a woman in her own ways of moving through pregnancy, labor, and birth. We work with her to promote a healthy pregnancy, and provide education to help her make informed decisions about her own care. Deren and Brynne founded Mountain View Midwives in 2002. Over the past nine years, attending home births in the Charlottesville area, we have developed excellent consultation and referral relationships (including transfer of care in labor) with physicians specializing in the care of pregnant women and babies. Pregnancy massage!

Mountain View Midwives now integrates specialized bodywork treatments into routine prenatal care. Starting a 20 weeks, all MVM Clients receive FREE Maya Abdominal Therapy and/or Cranio-Sacral Therapy as a way to prepare for an easier birth.
